Choose an ANPR camera by the required plate image at the capture point. Confirm horizontal and vertical angle, vehicle speed, shutter and illumination with day and night samples before fixing the camera position.

Start with the plate image

A wide overview can have high resolution but too few pixels on the plate. Lens and mounting distance should be designed around the recognition region.

Validate difficult conditions

Run samples for headlights, rain, shadow, motorcycles and different vehicle paths.

Is a higher megapixel camera always better?

No. Lens choice, plate pixel density, shutter and light often matter more than the headline resolution.
